I was responsible for...
During my internship, I interned along side the pediatric psychologist where I gained valuable experience in the field of clinical psychology, and learned about the day to day responsibilities of the position. I was able to learn more about psychological evaluations as well as how to address behavioral health needs. I also learned how to effectively communicate with patients and their families, and helped put together hand outs that families would be able to take home with them.
I was able to attend weekly case consultation meetings where I was able to present cases to a multidisciplinary team. This has allowed me to work on my communication skills and has been a really great learning experience!
I learned that you should not expect everything to go as planned, because more often than not things do not go the way they were planned. It is important to be flexible and be comfortable with change.
