I was responsible for...
Over the course of my internship, I have had many different responsibilities including but not limited to checking clients in and out of shelter, helping with our rental assistance program, helping to file important client paperwork, helping assist families in our transitional housing program, as well as looking for affordable housing for our shelter clients.

I accomplished...
The greatest accomplishment that I have gained from being an intern would have to be helping others find resources that will help them get out of their present homelessness situation.

I learned...
The greatest lesson I have learned is that anyone can be homeless it doesn't matter your age, race, education background it can happen to anyone. But the most important thing is that even if someone is homeless you should still give them the same amount of respect as any other person.

Advice for others...
My advice would be to have an open mind and to try not to be judgmental. Another piece of advice I would give is to try not to be shy in terms of interacting with clients if you feel comfortable with them they will feel comfortable with you.
